Exhibition: "Xukli universe? Put your cap, explore it at Robert Palace"

The Xukli Exhibition? Put La Cap, explore it at the Palau Robert is an exhibition proposal of the Directorate General of Dissemination / Palau Robert promoted by the Association of Family and Friends of Oncological Children of Catalonia, AFANOC. The Hortènsia Galí journalist is the curator, and Maite Golmayo, communication manager of the entity, has assumed the project management. It can be visited in Room 4 of Palau Robert from February 14 and until April 21. AFANOC was born in 1987 by the promotion of a group of parents; Families who encountered the situation of having their children admitted to the hospital with a cancer diagnosis. That made them detect many shortcomings that existed then. Specific needs arising from this diagnosis that made them organize to find solutions and find answers that improve this process. Throughout these years, the entity has become professional and launched programs and services aimed at improving the quality of life and psychosocial health of all these children and adolescents and their families. The exhibition explores the origin of AFANOC, born of the life experience of a group of families who decided to be proactive. The exhibition aims to explain what they define as “one of the most incredible social adventures of all time”, and a clear example of how organized civil society can achieve significant goals. Throughout the route, the visitor will be the guest of a unique space, the Xukli universe, discovered by this group of families who embarked on a stratospheric journey after receiving the impact of cancer diagnosis on their children. The public will delve into a story in the form of a journalistic chronicle, which explains the great work started 40 years ago, and which is still active thanks to the thousands of people who have become involved with the entity all these years.
