Kazuo Shinohara (1925 – 2006) took domestic architecture beyond its conventional boundaries. He is the most influential architect of his generation in Japanese architecture today. The exhibition in Barcelona on the occasion of the centenary of his birth is the most extensive retrospective of his work in Europe since 1997 and a great opportunity to reassess his legacy from a contemporary perspective.
