exhibition "Strawberry Fields"

The “Strawberry Fields” project, winner of the 11th edition of the Video Creation Award call, focuses on the women day laborers who work in picking strawberries in Huelva, a territory that has become a paradigm of the effects of agro-industrial capitalism. The film starts from a critique of the urban-centric view that dominates the contemporary narrative and makes rural ways of life and the conditions of migrant workers invisible. Located between visual essay and experimental cinema, the film takes its title from the song “Strawberry Fields” by the Beatles to address, from a hallucinatory and fragmentary language, the political construction of the gaze and its ability to affect what it represents.
