Exhibition “plastic. Great or perverse?”

Since the discovery of Parkesina in 1856, plastic has revolutionized human life.

A resistant, economical, light, waterproof, insulating and enduring material. The advantages of plastic in areas such as social, technological and, especially, medical, are unquestionable. But these characteristics have made it one of the main threats to the ecosystem. Most of the plastic does not disappear, but decomposes into microparticles that severely affect human and environmental health.

The Terra Museum premieres in the Barcelona Room the exhibition “Plastic. Great or perverse? “. Based on the exhibition that the Museum created and premiered in the Espluga de Francolí in 2019, now the exhibition arrives in Barcelona re -adapted and thought with a clear educational character to reflect with the students about the end of the balance between the Use and abuse of plastic.

Divided into four main areas – the plastic, the object, the survival and the abundance – the exhibition has been curated by Núria Vila and produced by the museum and has audiovisuals, artistic installations, games and objects from the Terra Museum collection to explore the history of plastic and reflect on the use we make.
