exhibition "models Cities and utopias 1859 – 1958"

As part of the year Cerdà, the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Universitat Politènica de Catalunya (UPC) and the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC), through the Open Center of Architecture, are organizing the exhibition that presents ten projects formulated between 1859 and 1958 which, halfway between the radical utopia and the urban project, transformed the way of thinking about cities. Based on the legacy of Ildefons Cerdà and other visionary urban planners, it proposes a reflection on the transformative potential of these proposals in the face of social, environmental and territorial challenges in diverse geographies. You can consult more information on the exhibition “Models. Cities and utopias 1859 – 1958” on the website of the Open Architecture Centre. Last update: 07/17/2026
