The Diocesan Museum presents an unprecedented exhibition that intertwines Franciscan spirituality with the contemporary climate emergency, through the work of the renowned South African photographer Gideon Mendel. The exhibition proposes a meeting between the poetic composition of Saint Francis and the contemporary images of Mendel that document floods and fires in more than a dozen countries. In his photographs, submerged bodies and homes appear, devastated forests become lunar landscapes, and burned or soaked everyday objects are transformed into silent witnesses of a global crisis.
