“Intertwining words and images, Facunda reconstructs the life of a woman who embodies the memory of a country. Through the intimate portrait of her grandmother, the author traces a family history traversed by Alzheimer’s disease, but also by the great social displacements of recent decades: the migration from the countryside to the city, the impact of drugs in the eighties, the questioning of family structures and the growing importance of care work. An endearing essay and significant about the fragility of memory and the persistence of affections.
