“When I grow up I want to be a girl”, she said to her mother, one night, before closing her eyes and surrendering to sleep. In this dreamlike space that was hidden in her pillow, another reality was announced: hers. That was two years ago, when Cora wasn’t Cora yet. A few months later, walking with her mother in the park, the situation became untenable: “No one sees me”, Cora told him.
Today, Cora is a trans girl who dreams of making unicorns. ⠀⠀

Trans childhood reflects the change of a heteronormative system that is slowly beginning to accept diversity. The long-running report aims to accompany Cora through time, and in all her vital universes.

Gabo Caruso (Buenos Aires, Argentina) lives and works in Barcelona. He studied Political Science, Photography, Visual Communication and Photojournalism. She is a member of Women Photograph and Fotofeminas.

She is interested in gender and feminism (women’s stories, trans people, refugees, migrants, LGTBIQ+). He has published in media like The Weekly Country, Stern, La Repubblica, international, El diario.esetc. His work has been exhibited at CORTONA ON THE MOVE, Queer Festival Heidelberg, F2 Festival Durtmont, Casa América, Calabria Festival, Vogue Festival, etc.

He is interested in photography as a tool for collaboration and social transformation. With his work, he wants to establish empathetic and intimate links between the people photographed and the viewers, to bring stories that expand the limits of thought. Their different projects are linked to human rights in favor of diversity.
