Exhibition “At the edge of Park Güell”
The exhibition is conceived as an opportunity to delve deeper into the multiple layers of meaning of Park Güell, exploring its most intimate, imaginative and hidden dimensions. through three thematic sectionsthe project seeks to reveal what is often hidden from public view: the personal experience, the collective projection and the underground reality of the park.
The first section, “Collected glances: Between the crowd and intimacy“, presents photographs that capture inadvertent moments of the park, experienced from calmness and personal connection. The images, originating from a photo hackathon, reveal a private and introspective look at Park Güell, an experience that is not built to be exhibited but emerges between the individual and the space. This section highlights the intimate dimension of the park, one that is often overshadowed by its status as a tourist icon.
The second section, “Perspectives: The future of Park Güell in the collective unconscious“, invites experts, managers and agents involved in the management and custody of the park to write imaginary postcards projecting what Park Güell will be like in the year 2125. Based on close knowledge and love, these postcards want to share future visions of the park with all audiences, revealing not only what is desired, but also what has not yet been formulated. This section proposes a collective projection exercise that navigates between dream, memory and anticipation.
The third section, “Preserved treasures: The sheltered and underground Park Güell“, explores the most reserved and physical dimension of the park: its underground structures, hidden geologies, deposits, mines, caves, roots and hidden spaces. This invisible universe, inaccessible to the regular visitor, connects the past with the future and highlights a living heritage that remains discreetly active below the surface. It is here that history is silently preserved and projected.
As a whole, the exhibition proposes a new look at Park Güell, shifting the focus from the monument to the living space, changing the spectacle for experience, and tourism for complicity.
This activity is part of the commemoration ofGaudí Year.
