Display "Cultivate the strange"

This anthological exhibition brings together a series of projects that has been done by Álvaro Perdicts (Madrid, 1971) in the last fifteen years, and combines several emblematic productions of the artist with unpublished works that were thought for the Viceroyal Center of the Image. After studying at the University of California (UCLA) and residing more than two decades in Los Angeles, Perdicas returned to Spain in 2011 and began its own creative trajectory, which alternated with the curator and the coordination of exhibitions for the Prado Museum. Some of the topics that cover the artist’s work are the concept of “deeducation”, from which it alludes to the collective structures that claim learning released from standards and hierarchies, or the analysis of peripheral nature: the field and the city, what is wild and what is urban. He has exhibited at CA2M in Madrid, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, at the Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum of Cairo, at the Marcelino Botín Foundation in Santander, in the Círculo de Fine Arts in Madrid and at the Tàpies Museum in Barcelona, among others.
