Display "Barça, more than a club. Montjuïc, a shelter stadium"
Between the fall of 1936 and the spring of 1937, during the Spanish Civil War, the Lluís Companys stadium in Montjuïc welcomed more than 21,000 displaced people from different parts of the peninsula. Polish photographer Margaret Michaelis collected the day -to -day life of the thousands of families who went through this sports precinct. The photographs can see these people teaching in the classrooms enabled in the stands or directly on the grass, conducted sessions of physical activity and sports, conducting household chores such as cooking, extending clothes or sewing. You can consult more information about the exhibition “Barça, more than a club. Montjuïc, a refuge stadium” on the website of the castle of Montjuïc. Last update: 13/10/2025
