Coópolis is provided with a new protocol against violence in the work environment
From Coópolis we are convinced that working for violence -free environments involves constantly questioning and reviewing our attitudes learned and for not taking anything for granted, either in terms of the security of the spaces in which we live, work or enjoy.
Although we are aware of the path we have to go, we also want to celebrate and share the steps we take to strengthen the safety and well -being in our work environment, and in particular the space that we share the more than 40 entities that, of One way or another is part of the collective project that is coópolis. For this reason, we have been working internally for a whole year to design and deploy a protocol plan for the prevention, detection, approach, monitoring and repair of situations of sexist, sexual, or lgtbia+phobic coopolis violence.
What is this plan?
It is a guide that is used to prevent, detect and address cases of violence within organizations. Define the roles and actions to respond to a case of aggression or violence in a specific context, in the case of coópolis, in all those spaces and times that the people who are part of it dedicates to the project.
How are we doing it?
The preparation of a protocol plan for the prevention, detection, approach, monitoring and repair of situations of sexist, sexual or lgtia+phobic violence is a long process, which implies a high dedication and involvement of all The entity. It is a collective reflection document that everyone has to assume as their own.
Over the last few months, we have met on several occasions the people who were designated to be part of the protocol working group that are part of the entities La Tregua, Options, Trama and Coópolis Association. The working group, in addition to being actively part of this space, has also been responsible for moving the debates to the entities so that they could all participate effectively in the process. To work on this protocol we are accompanied by a team of professionals from the Equilatera cooperative. Thanks to its revitalization, we have identified the points of debate, work and methodology that best adhered to the coópolis structure.
In addition, all the coopolis entities participated in a training given by the colleagues of the same cooperative that is supported by the prevention, detection and action in cases of violence in the work environment.
And then what?
Finally, you have to put it into practice! The protocol is an action guide that must be adjusted to the reality of the entities and that must train spaces and people in order to be able to prevent, detect and entomor situations of internal violence to eradicate them and repair.
This process, in fact, does not have an end, as it is imperative to be able to keep track of the evolution and deployment of the plan, and the planned actions and actions must be reviewed at least every 4 years.
