Cooperative Energy Week 2026 is back
The Cooperative Energy Week 2026 already has clear dates and objectives: from June 2 to 5, 2026 at Bloc4BCN is will strengthen the role of cooperatives in the transformation of the energy model. Driven by Coòpolis and with the leadership of BATEC, this new edition of the Cooperative Energy Week is consolidated as a space for meeting, reflection and strategic articulation within the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS).
In a context marked by the climate crisis, the instability of energy prices and the increase in social inequalities, the Week wants to value energy communities and cooperative initiatives as key tools to move towards a fairer, more democratic model rooted in the territory and, at the same time, to debate the challenges of a just energy transition, both in urban and rural.
This year’s edition is structured in two complementary days that combine international view and local action.

The first session will take place on Tuesday, June 2 in the afternoon in format onlineand will be focused on the exchange of international community energy experiences. With initiatives coming from Colombia, Ecuador and Latvia, and the participation of REScoopthe session will offer an opportunity to learn about diverse models of organization and governance, as well as to identify shared challenges and opportunities for global collaboration. This meeting aims to inspire the local fabric and strengthen the international dimension of energy cooperatives.
The second day will be held on Friday, June 5 in the morning at Bloc4BCNwith a territorial approach. The session will combine the analysis of the current moment with the collective construction of a new roadmap for cooperative energy in Catalonia. It will have the participation of Network for Energy Sovereignty, IDRA and theAssociation of Municipalities and Entities for Public Energy (AMEP)and will include specific spaces such as the evaluation of future scenarios (9.30 a.m.) and a debate on the just energy transition in the rural area (12 p.m.), with the involvement of actors such asAssociation of Rural and Maritime Initiatives of Catalonia (ARCA) and the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Catalonia.
Beyond the conferences, the SEC 2026 aspires to generate sustained impact. Among the expected results is the consolidation of this space as annual reference within the Coòpolis ecosystem, thestrengthening of BATEC’s leadership in the field of energy communities and the generation of new alliancesas international as with the rural world. It is also planned to draw up a summary of conclusions that guides the lines of action for the period 2026-2027.
With this new edition, the Cooperative Energy Week reaffirms its role as a strategic space to move towards an energy model more democratic, sustainable and committed to social and environmental justice. Sign up through this link!
