On Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 18:00, the conference “Josep Maria Ruera, a composer to claim”, will take place in the Room of the Caritat de Catalunya, by the pianist and writer Jordi Masó i Rahola.

Josep Maria Ruera i Pinart (Barcelona, ​​1900 – Granollers, 1988), performer, director, educator and composer, cultivated genres, formations and various musical scenarios. His repertoire covers from religious music and symphonic and chamber music, to dance music and numerous sardanas. Very dear in Granollers, where he lived much of his life, he designed his work beyond this city.

The event is part of the context of the exhibition “The musician Josep Ruera, beyond Granollers”, with which the music section of the Library of Catalonia wants to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the birth of the composer.

Prior to the conference, the curators of the exhibition Montserrat Molina Egea and Soledad Sánchez Bueno will be given a few words, and the cellist and granddaughter of the Taís Costa Ruera composer.

Entry is free with limited capacity.

The exhibition, which will take place from June 25 to July 28 in the Zero Space of the Library of Catalonia, can be visited the same day after the conference.
