Conference ‘Josep Cercós: visions of a sound landscape’
Next Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 7 p.m., the conference “Josep Cercós: visions of a soundscape” will take place in the Sala de la Caritat of the Library of Catalonia, as part of the 15th cycle of Catalan classical music “Your classics”organized by the Joan Manén Association.
The conference will be given by Bernat Cabré, editor, musicologist and curator of the Year Cercós, on the occasion of the concert “In search of new expressive paths”which will be held on March 11 at the Auditori de Barcelona.
On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Josep Cercós (1925-1989), Bernat Cabré presents a panoramic view of a landscape that will help us better understand the composer’s world. A landscape defined by the passage of German post-romanticism towards an expressionist desire – at the hands of its masters – until arriving at a very particular style, the result of an investigation that fuses a personal reading of traditional elements and modernity.
