Jordi Bonell

Jordi Bonell i Dayá (1958 –2024) was a figure of Catalan jazz and a reference of the Music Fusion in Spain. Formed in the Conservatory of the Liceu and in the New School for Social Research of Nueva York, developing a versatile race that has been scored from the Laietana music with groups such as Sonica sect and urban music, until collaborations with artists such as Joan Manuel Serrat, Gato Pérez, Chet Baker, Marina Rossell and Miguel Bosé. His style combines jazz, flamenco, author of author and Mediterranean sonidos, creando a musical lenguaje proper and recognizable.

In addition to their work as a member and composer, Bonell was a prominent pedagogue. Taught classes in Institutions such as the Musicians Workshop, the Conservatory of the Liceu and the ESMUC, leaving a deep huella in a variety of generations of musicians. Among their most prominent albums are found Angel (1998), Madness water (2004) y Choral pulse (2016).

His musical and human legado is still living in the jazz scene and in the memory of those who know.
