Claudia Pagès Rabal and Eva Fàbregas, invited to the 18th Biennial of Istanbul – Detail news

Claudia Pagès Rabal It presents to Istanbul Biennial Five Defence Towers (2025), an installation that reflects on fractured temporality, militarization and both physical and social precariousness. The play is built around the immersive movie The Night of Five Defence Towersrecorded with a 360 -degree camera and projected on a suspended LED screen that evokes the Catalan vault, an architectural element of Islamic origin. The piece combines choreographies of four performers, together with the same artist, and a text recited in Catalan, Spanish and English, which evokes the historical and linguistic layers of medieval Andalusia, between conquerors and conquerors. Presented earlier at the Chisenhalle Gallery in London, Pagès Rabal’s work is supported by the IRL through the line of subsidies for the International Visual Arts, Architecture and Design Programming and can be seen in Know Factory

Eva Fàbregas carries Exudatesan installation that occupies the space as if it were a living organism, constantly growing and secreting. The title refers to the biological process of the ex -SUDY – SUBSTANCES like sap, resin or pus, which are released to cure but which, in excess, can make it difficult to recover – and that here moves to the sculptural field to explore the ambivalences of organic matter and the body. The sculptures of Fàbregas, of large format and biomorphic character, are based on the textures, shapes and rhythms of living organisms, establishing a universe that seems to expand autonomously. Through materials such as latex, synthetic fabrics and elastic mesh, the artist creates soft, bulbous and fleshy shapes that evoke body interiors, cellular structures or metabolic processes. En Exudatesthese masses emerge through openings on the roof and the walls, interrupting and at the same time merging with the architecture that contains them. Exudates will be exhibited to Mebusan mebusan 35with the support of the catapulta platform.
