I IMAGINE THINGS THAT SOUND FAR AWAYby Julia de la Torre
I IMAGINE THINGS THAT SOUND FAR AWAY investigates how corporeality can be a resource for activating memory devices; this work is the result of a practice that has always accompanied me and that has to do with the relationship between my body, my memory and the landscapes that have surrounded me; a proposal againstspecific site where all the territories that inhabit the body are explored, folding over each other, in one place: the dance floor.

Julia de la Torre was born in 1986 in the city of Buenos Aires, in the south of the American continent, and is a dance artist. She has a degree in choreographic composition from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (AR) and completed the Master’s in Stage Practice and Visual Culture at the Museo Reina Sofía and the Universidad Castilla-La Mancha (ES). He lives in Barcelona, but studied in Argentina, Mexico, Cuba and Spain. It inhabits different practices and languages, in a constant exchange between dance, photography, audiovisual creation, performance and writing.
