March 27, at 7:00 p.m
On January 1, 1925, Edwin Hubble presented to the world his work consisting of the calculation of the distance to what was then known as the “Andromeda Nebula”. His work led to the conclusion that the Universe was a much bigger place than we thought, and the concept of the galaxy was born. 100 years later, a telescope named after him still flies over our heads 535 kilometers away and was key in helping us know that the number of galaxies in existence is well over a hundred billion, making the dimensions of the Cosmos in unimaginables. In this talk we will try to get closer to this unknown reality.
