Carilló concerts at the Palau de la Generalitat

Palace carillonist: Anna Maria Reverté.

The palace carillon opened in December 1976 under the impulse of the carillonist M. Dolors Coll (awarded with the Creu de Sant Jordi in 2000 for all his carillonistic work in our country, and also for the international diffusion of Catalan culture). This carillon replaced the small carillon of 1927. With 49 bells and a total of 4,898 kg of bronze, it becomes a magnificent concert instrument for our governing headquarters. The bordon, in addition, with 905 kg of bronze, has the name ‘Catalunya’ inscribed. It was built in the Netherlands by Petit & Fritsen, and restored in December 1991. In October 2015, Eijsbouts (Petit & Fritsen) renewed keyboards.

Concert program:

  • Wednesday, September 24, at 9 pm: Extraordinary Concert Fiestas de la Mercè – Festívoles pieces
  • Sunday, October 5, at 12 noon: From the guitar to the carillon – fresh sounds, sparkling, vibrant
  • On Sunday, November 2, at 12 noon: Trip to Norway with Edvard Grieg (1843-1907).
