Camil Clot spirit returns to Flyhard
After passing through last year’s Greek festival, My name is Joseph Return to the Flyhard Room to open the 2025/26 season with a new series of features, from September 5 to 30. The work, written and directed by Marc de la Vargacombines concert, documentary and theatrical language languages to approach the figure of Camil Clot, a musician from the 1990’s alternative scene who mysteriously disappeared from the stage.
The cast is kept intact, with Mont Flat, Pau Vinyals and the musician Daniel Higiénicothat gives life to the narrator of this stage research. Higiénico acknowledges that I had long been eager to explore the interpretative side: “I have always played with theater in my performances. When Marc wrote to me to propose this project, I said yes immediately,” he says. His interest in mental health comes from afar, and his work echoed him especially for personal experiences: “My father was admitted to a psychiatric and when he was going to see him he did not recognize me; he thought he was an actor. In a way, this project is also a way to close a circle.”
A show -riding show of genres
My name is Joseph It starts from a real case – the hole – but avoids the biographical tone. “We did not want to do a biopic. It is more a reflection on the limits between creativity and mental illness, how greatness can lead to imbalance,” says Higiénico. The piece proposes a fragmentary drama with flashbacks, dramatized interviews and live music, which he performs himself with themes created specifically for the play.
The scene is built with few elements – four bova chairs and an immersive space in which the audience surrounds the action – but it generates great emotional proximity. “ It is one of those works in which the audience does not look from the outside, but feels part, ” says Marc de la Varga, who defines the assembly as “ an attempt to explore the border between common sense and madness, between reality and fiction, and also between recognition and oblivion. ”
