Ramon Guimarães is an interdisciplinary artist who focuses his practice on the ephemeral nature of action art, understood as a fertile territory of possibilities and change. Locating in the daily context of any individual, the audience appears with forceful, often participatory actions, and full of meanings that go beyond the obvious.
Direct experimentation and collaboration with attendees -understood as free individuals -humor, risk of failure, depth and sincerity are key elements in the development of their actions. At the same time, he explores photography and moving image as tools to respond to the feeling of not fitting anywhere, sharing with others and building diverse social narratives.
Recently posted Working Performances (Edicions Arbar, 2024), an interactive work that collects one hundred actions and its corresponding calligrams, offering an immersive approach to the experience of action art.
