Are you ready for the jazz festival in Barcelona?


JAZZ AND AM is the annual meeting of music professionals in Barcelona. From March 12 to 14, 2025we will celebrate its seventh edition in the spaces Montjuïc House and The Millin the heart of the Parallel. During the event, 15 groups will connect us with the freshest of the music scene. Free improvisation will be the protagonist in our activities, and we will celebrate a Focus Sweden. In addition, debates will be held on current issues and innovative meeting and networking formats will be presented, such as Showlabels, MeeThePro and MeeTheNet. You can’t miss it!

Programmers, booking and management agencies, cultural managers and jazz artists will unite in March with a program that strengthens cooperation, promotes the programming of more Spanish artists in other countries and promotes the creation of local and international co-productions.

In the musical program of the event, the bands will perform Bussol, KIW, Anggie Obin Quintet, Nausyqa, Lucía Fumero, Carmen Vela, Grabu and Andrés Coll Cosmic Trioselected by an expert and independent jury. After the success of previous editions, two other showcases will be of international representatives: the Focus Sweden will bring us closer to the performances of Hannes Bennich and Sisters of Invention. As a novelty, JAZZ I AM will host a showcase of free improvisation by 9 artists from Spain, Sweden and Austria, a sample of the innovative project in the export of improvised music in the European musical ecosystem: I AM ABROAD. Finally, Taller de Músic organizes a party to welcome the bands Carola Ortiz Duo, Clara Lai Trio, Marta Duran and Abraham Lojo.

The content programming will bring the audience a dialogue about black music and free jazz between Kevin LeGendre and Mariano Peyrouand will offer an in-depth interview with the Swedish free improvisation pianist of Korean origin Lisa Ullen. Two round tables in charge of the Catalan Academy of Music and the Association of Jazz and Modern Musicians of Catalonia will offer a debate on plurality and inclusion and they will expose the challenges of the digital distribution for record labelsrespectively.
