Aquí ens cuidem – Centre Cívic Guinardó

”Here we care” is a campaign born from the commitment of Barcelona’s civic centers with the aim of guaranteeing safe, inclusive and respectful spaces.

Through this initiative, the staff of the civic centers undertake to listen, help and act with empathy, and ask all users to share this same commitment. Respect, dialogue and coexistence are the basis for enjoying culture and common spaces.

The campaign is specified in the following decalogue:

1. We speak carefully. Words can hurt too – we use respectful language and a calm tone.

2. We treat people with dignity. Respect is not only in words, but also in attitudes and gestures.

3. We listen before we respond. Constructive criticism is welcome; disrespect, no.

4. We practice empathy. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

5. Zero tolerance for violence. Neither verbal, nor physical, nor intimidating attitudes.

6. We value diversity. Sexist, racist or LGBTIphobic attitudes are not tolerated.

7. We use inclusive language. This space is for everyone.

8. We respect the common spaces. They belong to everyone: take care of them as if they were your own.

9. We manage conflicts with dialogue. We avoid shouting, pressure or aggressive demands.

10. We share kindness and empathy. We come here to enjoy and live together.
