synopsis:
Antonio Salieri is the most prominent musician at the court of Emperor Joseph II of Austria. Completely devoted to music, he promises God humility and chastity if, in return, he preserves his extraordinary musical talents. But, after the arrival at court of a young man named Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Salieri is relegated to the background. Enraged by the loss of prominence, he will do everything possible to ruin the career of the musician from Salzburg.
