All this, this winter, in our house!


In the mood for culture? We release year, quarter and new year cultural programming. Next week the activity returns to La Casa Elizalde and then we give you a summary of everything you can do at our house this winter (which is not little, we’ll tell you in advance).

You can now mark the dates on the calendar (and don’t forget the days on which we open reservations). All activities are free, with the exception of family shows.

Classics and not so much

The piano, violin and clarinet trio Corena will inaugurate ours classical music cycle the January 31with a program that draws its inspiration from the delicacy of Mozart to the innovative creations of the 21st century. We will continue with the pianist Emma Stratton (7/2) and his unique blend of virtuosity and musicality. We will also discover the duo of violin and piano formed by Enric Moya and Duarte Soares (2/14)who will offer us a concert where music and emotions will be closely linked. We will finish with Cranberry (2/21) i The salamandera self-created musical show inspired by the figure of Mercè Rodoreda.

Al coincidental you will enjoy the creation music right now. This winter they will accompany us Aida Oset (2/28) and the songs from his album Minimal evasionsa whole journey of fall and ascent. We will listen to the new songs of Santi Careta (3/14)with lyrics that invite you to follow the rhythms set by nature. Bianca Steck (3/21) will present his first album, The Joy of Coincidencesan intimate work of continuing compositions from a tradition of British folk, pop and independent styles. Performing arts

Isekai: story of a kidnapping (1/30)from the Cia. La Salamandra will be the first show of the quarter and of the year. We will continue with glory (2/13)which starts from a memory buried since childhood to delve into the fears that are most difficult to admit; we will continue with my joys (2/20)a dance piece about trying to be true to oneself; we will continue with the dance solo And the couplet? (2/27) i Inhabitant ties (3/13)a scenic creation of a documentary nature that combines handcrafted visuals, dance and music; the next show will be I, Judit, Juditha (3/20)which will make us reflect on the destruction that revolutions have left over the course of history; and we’ll finish with Wax: 500 flight hours (3/27)which explores the narrative and poetic possibilities of beeswax.

Exhibitions

We will start with Poetics of madness (22/1 – 22/3)a project within the framework of TEMPORARY which addresses the complexity of neurodiversity and madness from an aesthetic and critical perspective. This is an exhibition curated byAngelica Tognettiwith the collaboration of the artists María Ruido, Claudia Ventola, Natalia Lazaro Prevost and Julia Montilla.

Another of the exhibition proposals for this winter is This is how we do it at home (29/1-5/4), of Hello San. A window into the artist’s most personal work: quick pen drawings in his notebooks that serve as a starting point for the creation of the final work.

cinema

Al glances this winter we will have the collaboration of the experimental audiovisual platform hammock. Under the title Ready to be?our series of Documentary and auteur films will consist of the screenings Ainhoa: I’m not that (4/3), stop (11/03) i tapologist (3/18). All sessions will be accompanied by a presentation and discussion. In addition, as part of the last of the films, we will make one guided visit to Sida Studi (3/19 – 6 p.m.).

On the other hand, we will also have the usual programming of the DocsBarcelonawith documentaries like Reynal House (1/28) -with presentation and discussion by Laia Manresa-, Mina and the prisoners’ radio (2/18) i Bye bye Tiberias (3/25).

Windows of memory

The search for photographic material for the new exhibition this year it doesn’t stop. We continue to work on the exhibition proposal focused on the material memory of the interiors of the Eixample. We are emphasizing our look at photographs from the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, in which elements made of cotton appear, such as fabrics, tablecloths, valances or dresses and shawls.

Along these lines, we will do two activities: one visit to the MNAC Photo Archive (27/2 – 11 a.m.)by Roser Cambray, curator of the museum’s Department of Photography, and a collage workshop (5/3 – 7 p.m.) with Isis Navarro, where we will experiment with photographs from the family album and various fabrics.
