A past summer, very shared
Peter Riera is a playwright who, as he has been releasing, has been teaching his most intimate world. His debut was in a distant T6 of the TNC with a fiction traveling to Greenland (Far from Nuuk2010). If before it was directed to a very distant point to access a projection of happiness, now it searches for hidden truths loaded with childish fun, adolescent desires of high fertility and unconfessable nostalgia. On the intermediate path, Riera had also moved the Sala Gran del TNC (2013) with Barcelona (viewing from Vallvidrera the bombings of the Civil War). Now, Sala Beckett rests, from December 17 to January 11, Casa Caloresa story that evokes the memory of youthful summers in the family home. Friends of the Arts sing to House for salea bittersweet portrait that resonates with this tender story.
Riera talks about a house, hers, next to the beach. It is not a second residence, although the terrace is surely that space of freedom independent of the lower floors. In the shed, with the washing machine, a drop by drop for pots or a satellite dish will be installed. And colorful towels, loaded with sea salt, and father’s shirts will continue to be spread, alongside infidelities, obligations of children and mothers… Everyone has a corner on the map with which they identify their childhood and adolescence. Pere Riera pours loads of extreme nostalgia into this one Casa Calores. There hangs the sweet memory of summer parties on the terrace at home, based on Coca-Cola and 80’s music (and some cigarettes hidden under the railing tile), next to the pain of discovering the responsibility of life. Maturity reinforces the identity trait of youth. And if Ramon was the decisive one of the group, it is logical that he would make a decision that would surprise his friends (with whom he has danced and played football and on the beach and, above all, had the bloodiest arguments). He wrote the text in 2007. We don’t know to what extent it has been retouched, but it can be sensed that little, because today the voice-over that wraps this kind of diary has a tender air that is too literary, which makes a difference to the intense life of the performance.
Rosa Gamiz (which assumes the role of Renown Rose) is a positive and patient mother, one of those who keep quiet and endure. And of those who justify a marriage by the birth of a child. Jordi Boixaderas he is the handyman who solves everything, who knows everything inside the house, but who keeps quiet for the good of the neighborhood. beside him, Eudald Font he is the obedient and studious son who rehearses the first secrets, his first kisses. Julia Molins (which replaces Emma Arquillué), Julia Bonjoch i Arnau Comas they are the inseparable friends, the summer couples who never quite got over the trance of September separations.
