A comedy with airs of ‘true crime’, Sala Flyhard’s new bet

Great things will happen it transports us to the kitchen of an apartment where Artur, an ex-accountant and author of a true crime podcast, is obsessed with the disappearance of a neighbor while his partner works endless hours in a nursing home to make ends meet. The piece explores the limits of personal fantasy in the face of reality, a reflection on failure, unfulfilled expectations and fascination with conspiracy theories. The authors of the work, Jordi Casado and Sílvia Navarro, pose a central question: “what if, while Artur is desperately looking for something fantastic to happen, fantastic things were already happening around him without him realizing it?”
A comical reflection on mistrust and dissatisfaction
“Trust costs us, in general. Trusting yourself costs. Trusting others costs even more. And in this cynical and defeatist environment, where is the wonder?”, reflects Casado, pointing towards a society that, caught between the anxiety of productivity and the fear of failure, has stopped believing that good things can happen. “The only thing we can do to survive in this environment is to rebel against it, and to do it passionately”, points out Navarro, and adds: “Flee from the need for our neighbor to be a criminal and recover the ability to marvel at the little things that surround us”.
This combination of cynicism and hope is precisely what has inspired the work, which, in the words of its creators, wants to be “a fantastic comedy or a fantastic comedy”. The goal is for the viewer to question, through humor, the extent to which we are able to see the good things we already have in our lives.
