An ecosystem where the body, movement, sign language, music, light, silence and space share the same story
U-TOPIC was born from the need to investigate what happens when communication stops being just a matter of words and becomes a bodily, perceptual and cultural experience.
U-TÚPICA is a scenic journey inspired by the experience of a trans, autistic and CODA person, located between languages, cultures and ways of perceiving the world. Through the body, movement, sign language, music and perception, the work explores the construction of identity, belonging and the need to find one’s place among different communities. Rather than talking about differences, U-TÚPICA investigates what happens when these meet and how they can give rise to new forms of communication, culture and coexistence.
Gwinner of a grant for artistic creation, research and innovation from the Government of Catalonia. Winning show of the Odysseus Eòlia Scholarship Miranda Foundation with the support of Barcelona City Council (ICUB).
