U-TÚPICA project winner of the Odysseus Grant
Barcelona, July 17, 2026.
“U-TOPIC“, ofAllen Sanchez with direction of Veri de Morais and sound space and live music from Neus Soler has been the winning project of the Odysseus Eòlia Miranda Foundation Scholarship 2026.
The project will receive a financial aid for the production and first exhibition of €6,000 (taxes included), artistic residency in Aeolian Creation Spacesaccompaniment, artistic monitoring and coordination, technical residency at Aeolian Theatre and premiere and exhibition during the February and March 2027 at the Eòlia Theatre.
The proposal is born from the experience of a CODA, autistic and non-binary trans person who simultaneously inhabits different worlds without fully belonging to any of them. With this nature, the work is a gateway to explore the limits of communication, translation, belonging and the forms of relationship that emerge when different languages, identities and ways of perceiving the world share the same space.
Through sign language, oral language, Visual Vernacular, body, live music and visual composition, U-TOPIC builds a scenic experience where communication barriers cease to be an obstacle and become the center of artistic research.
