The last atom | Gencat Cultural Agenda

The last atomby Jordi Oriol, opens the new season at Teatre Zorrilla de Badalona with an apocalyptic tragicomedy as intelligent as it is overflowing. A show that combines science, humor and stage play to talk about a world that is falling apart and a reality that is increasingly difficult to define.

A scientific cabinet assembled urgently to find an answer to the disintegration of the matter that sustains human life; a couple dealing with how to say goodbye to a missing daughter; and two brothers who face the progressive loss of their mother’s language. Three stories crossed by fragility and uncertainty that seek to sustain existence in a world that may be fading.

With a vibrant staging and a text rich in layers of meaning and unexpected twists, the show turns uncertainty into a dramatic engine and explores the deeply human need to construct fictions to make sense of a reality that constantly eludes us.
