Tired of having a crappy photo in your portfolio that doesn’t reflect the great art professional you are—or aspiring to be? Unfunny_Curator proposes a mediation and photography workshop where we will analyze and imitate the visual codes that make an image seem professional, legitimate or institutional within the art world. Between performance, imitation and irony, each participant will produce one or several images of their own designed for dossiers, websites, portfolios or CVs, while reflecting on how cultural authority is constructed and performed.
In charge of theUnfunny_Curator which is the alter ego of the curator, researcher and artist Berta Esteve, as well as a mediation and dissemination project that reflects on various problems in the world of contemporary art. The activations of Unfunny_Curator hybridize physical spaces with digital ones, and take the form of memes, conferences, workshops, exhibitions or performances that have been presented in spaces such as Ángels Barcelona, Fundació Miró, Lo Pardal or Estructuras 3000, as well as through social networks.
Participants must bring a outfit or piece of clothing in which they would like to be photographed, as well as a camera if they have one.
