Joan Yago participates in the Pink Pavilion dramatized reading festival in Denmark – News Detail

The Pink Pavilion is an international festival of dramatized readings focused on new Danish and international drama that brings together creators and cultural agents, with the aim of exploring new forms of dramatic writing and fostering cultural exchange. This edition includes the work of the Catalan playwright John Yago, Short interviews with exceptional women. A fragment of this piece is presented, which will be worked on during the days before the festival, with the participation of a director, four actors and the author himself.

Short interviews with exceptional women is a collection of five fictitious interviews with eccentric women who expose human contradictions. He had a season in 2024 at TNC, after having premiered in Montreal and Paris.

The international playwrights participating in the Pink Pavilion have been selected from more than 70 applications through an open call promoted by Blaagaard Teater in Copenhagen in collaboration with cultural institutes in Catalonia (Institut Ramon Llull), France and Germany.

Each edition revolves around a specific theme and this year, under the motto “Freedom of…”, it wants to address issues such as freedom of expression and the global social and political contexts that directly affect it.

In addition to the presentation of Yago’s work, Sala Beckett, which has promoted the project together with the IRL, will actively participate in the festival by attending conferences and exchange spaces with professionals from the performing arts sector.

The festival takes place from 10 to 12 June 2026 at the Blaagaard Teater in Copenhagen.
