Guided visits to Birds-Kites by Aurèlia Muñoz | Activity

Every Sunday from 17 May to 12 July, enjoy a conversation about Birds-Kites by Aurèlia Muñoz, an installation bringing together three reconstructions of the series (1982), designed to be hung from a great height and dialogue with the natural light of the museum atrium.

Originally presented in large-scale venues like the Palacio de Cristal in Madrid and the Drassanes Reials in Barcelona, these pieces were designed to soar over the venues, generating a feeling of expansion. MACBA is reviving this purpose, inviting you to inhabit the atrium in a new way as part of the Aurelia Muñoz Year.

Starting out from the Birds-Kitesartists and researchers Albert Gironès and Eva Paià offer an introduction to the figure of Aurèlia Muñoz and her art practice, which connects sculpture, textile and architecturepositioning her as one of the key creative talents in contemporary art. On this visit, participants are helped to construct a collective narrative, creating a dialogue about everybody’s knowledge.
