04/15 – 5 p.m. Visit-workshop to the exhibition of Walker Evans FUNDACIÓ KBr

The visit-workshop is designed so that visitors can get to know the artist’s work in a practical and interactive way. This visit-workshop consists of two hours. The first is a guided tour of the exhibition and the second is the photographic workshop emphasizing the artist’s gaze.

Walker Evans started in photography in the 1920s and throughout his extensive career, which spans more than fifty years, he took some of the most recognized snapshots of the medium. He tackled a wide range of subjects, from street snapshots taken furtively, to meticulous and exact studies of architecture, although for a long time, his best-known images were those he took in the southern United States from 1930 onwards. Evans also embraced new artistic and technical advances, and at the end of his life he explored the possibilities offered by a Polaroid camera. What unified all his output was a deep interest and affection for the aspect and essence of everyday life in a society increasingly obsessed with the new and immediate.
