The family car as a symbol of a world that is leaving – Fundació Joan Brossa

Barcelona, January 29, 2026.– After two first samples of the process that addressed the change in the energy paradigm in today’s world from a more allegorical and ironic point of view —a party i a goodbyewith motorcycles as protagonists—, the creator Pau Masaló premieres on February 11 at the Joan Brossa Foundation’s Free Arts Center a car, a show that is now located in a more intimate and personal area, turning family memory into a space for collective reflection.

The starting point of the piece is apparently simple: the relationship with the family car. In this case, a Renault 21 Nevada, the vehicle with which his family toured Europe during the eighties and nineties, always camping, always with the implicit promise of a better future. Based on this memory, the show traces a journey that goes far beyond individual nostalgia to interrogate an era marked by confidence in progress, social ascent and the social democratic narrative that had its culminating moment of collective enthusiasm in 1992.
