The L’Esspurna program promotes student cooperativeism in educational centers – Ateneu

The Spark is a free educational initiative that encourages the creation and consolidation of student cooperatives in primary, secondary and high school education centers, bringing cooperativeism and the values of the social and solidarity economy to the classroom through a participatory and experiential methodology.

The project offers a plan of accompaniment and educational support based on the simulation of a cooperative with a social purpose. This approach allows students to assume roles, make collective decisions and develop skills such as teamwork, responsibility and democratic participation, with the teaching staff as a key agent in support.

It is deployed through two itineraries: one aimed at the promotion of new student cooperatives in educational centers and another focused on the support and consolidation of already existing cooperatives. In addition, it makes available to the centers didactic resources, personalized advice and spaces for networking with the territory and with other cooperative experiences.

Promoted and financed by the General Directorate of Social and Solidarity Economy of the Department of Enterprise and Work, the project is managed by entities of the social and solidarity economy and is part of public policies to promote cooperatives and the social economy in the educational field.
