Barcelona journalist and screenwriter Anna Guitart will take over the directorship of the Ramon Llull Institute on January 8, 2026, after the Board of Directors of the Ramon Llull Institute Consortium has approved her appointment. The Consortium is made up of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Government of the Balearic Islands, Barcelona City Council and Palma City Council.
Anna Guitart is a journalist and screenwriter, specializing in literature and books. She has been the curator responsible for designing the literary and artistic proposal of Barcelona as a guest city of honor at the Guadalajara International Book Fair. He began his professional career at Ràdio Barcelona and later worked on the program The Republicby Joan Barril, on COM Ràdio. He was part of the documentary team Septemberby Carles Bosch. He has worked as a screenwriter in programs like what is it about (Channel 33), The bocamoll (TV3) or via book (Channel 33), and directed the second season of the program wise (Channel 33). He has presented and directed literary and interview programs such as the book section of the program choose 33 (Channel 33) and All the time in the world (Channel 33). He has collaborated with the program Everything moves (TV3), in The morning of Catalunya Ràdio and in the newspaper now; she has been the magazine’s editorial advisor Yesterday’s world.
The Governing Board has been chaired by the Minister of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Sònia Hernández Almodóvar; the autonomous secretary of Culture and Sports of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Pedro Vidal Monserrat; and the Councilor for Culture and Creative Industries of Barcelona City Council, Xavier Marcé.
Anna Guitart will take over the direction of the Ramon Llull Institute after Pere Almeda’s term at the head of this institution dedicated to the international projection of the Catalan language and culture ended last November 7.
