The Prague Quadrennial (PQ), which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2027, is the most important event in the field of scenographic design in Europe. Since its creation in 1967, it has evolved to become an essential space for experimentation and scenographic innovation. It invites creators to explore new dramaturgical and scenic views, and integrates disciplines such as costumes, light, sound, objects or space design.
The central theme of the PQ 2027, which will take place from June 8 to 17, is “Absences and silences as potential spaces for new scenographic futures”. A proposal that invites you to explore what has been ignored, made invisible or silenced, and to question how these absences and silences can shape rhythm, space and the body in scenographic practice.
The PQ values the diversity of traditions, cultures and scenographic approaches, and presents itself as a platform open to plurality, with the capacity to generate multiple languages and perspectives.
To participate in the selection process, you must present a scenographic project that articulates an artistic and dramaturgical vision consistent with the conceptual framework of the PQ. A detailed technical and budgetary proposal must also be included.
The deadline for submitting applications starts on Monday 26th January and ends on Friday 13th February.
A jury will choose the three best proposals, which will have the opportunity to be defended in person. The scenographic project with the best score will be the one selected to represent Catalonia at the PQ of 2027, in the Countries and Regions Section, and its team will be hired to design and direct the production of the installation.
