exhibition "Art (D)éco 1925 | 2025. Design, mirror of the Decorative Arts"
In April 1925, Paris was the scene of the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts and Modern Industries, a key moment in which what we know as art deco exploded with force. Among the participants was the Foment de les Arts Decoratives (the current FAD), invited to bring a representative sample of Catalan decorative arts. The result was a successful exhibition of the creative talent of the moment, faithful to the ideals of modernity and excellence that the contest demanded. One hundred years later, the FAD commemorates that great milestone not only by showing what the material world was like in 1925, but by putting it in front of the mirror of today’s design. As then, a careful selection has been made, this time of nearly 200 objects and projects that define the material culture of the present: everyday products that surround us and that shape the way we live and think today. You can consult more information about the exhibition “Art (D)éco 1925 | 2025. Design, mirror of the Decorative Arts” on the website of the Design Hub Barcelona.
