WOMEN AND THE GUILDS: WOMEN IN THE MIDDLE AGE (II)

Thursday, December 11 at 7 p.m

In charge of Carmen Mestresretired professor of Geography and History and graduate in Anthropology from the UB, also has a master’s degree in Women’s Studies from DOUBT

We will dedicate this session to women from non-privileged estates (artisans or farmers) who contributed with their work to maintain the family unit and who played a role outstanding in the medieval economy. We’ll talk about the jobs they were able to do and how, as the Middle Ages progressed, they saw their rights diminish. We will question whether there really was a renaissance in women’s history.
