
The dry stone again takes shape – Athenaeum
From 5 to 23 November 2025the Civic Center The Electric launches a unique initiative to claim and reuse the technique of drya traditional Mediterranean architecture that builds with stones fitted without using mortar. This form of heritage combines history, ecology and sustainability, and the recovery of dry stone allows a direct connection to the landscape and local culture.
The proposal consists of three main days of activities:
- November 5 (18: 00–20: 00 h): Theoretical session at the Ateneu Santfeliuenc (Calle Vidal i Ribas, 23-125, Sant Feliu de Llobregat).
- November 16 (10: 00-14: 00 h): Guided itinerary through the dry stone huts recovered inside the municipality.
- November 23 (9: 00-14: 00 h): Practical workshop on dry, participatory stone and with traditional materials and techniques.
The set adds about 11 hours of activity, organized by the COPP dry stone working group, in collaboration with the Information Center of the Collserola Natural Park. The aim: to recover knowledge that is often lost, visualize a local heritage and generate spaces where culture and sustainability believe.
Registration is already open until November 22, at a cost of € 38.73and can be accessed through the online form. In case of reduced mobility, you must contact the Civic Center the electric to adapt the activity. Participants will have to wear appropriate footwear, comfortable clothes, water and food for the outputs and the workshop.
Recovering dry stone is not only to relive ancestral constructive techniques: it is to recognize the intimate relationship between community, territory and culture. If you are interested in its story and you want to put your hands on it, this is the occasion.
