A sharp satire on Dana’s management

When reality surpasses fiction, comedy is the only way out. On October 29, Dana devastated several locations in the Valencian Country, leaving a tragic balance of 228 deaths and millionaire damage. The mud swallowed houses, land and lives, but he could not bury a nefarious political management that, 8 months later, he has not yet refined responsibility. This mud, never better, is the starting point of Veriu special “The Ventorro”the new show of the Pot de Lead that will premiere in the Versus Glòries room on September 22.

Xavi Castillointegrating and visible face of the company, returns to the room Versus Glòries, where last year brought The Bible. Told by Xavi Castillowith this monologue born of helplessness and surprise. Like so many other Valencians, that October 29 was fatal to Castillo and his company, who saw much of their belongings buried under the mud. But, also like so many others, he soon started to start rebuilding and trying to rotate. In the case of Castillo, actor and humorist of pure blood, this reconstruction was inseparable from art. Recording videos with the volunteers, making sketches on the networks and again shining the smiles. This was the germ of the show that arrives in September in Barcelona. A combination, as Castillo himself explains, of personal experiences, current affairs and information. A mixture of pussy and complaint born of outrage. Outrage for deaths that could have been avoided, by policymakers who were not up to date and a corridor of statements and lies in the media.

Castillo, which drinks from Minstre, Rubian or Dario Foconfesses that he does not want to do political theater. But it comes out like this. And he argues that humor and satire are the best instrument to talk about anything. However, in the face of events such as Dana (who calls for Esperpent) or so many others that faces today’s society, he misses more denunciation on stage. At a time when it seems that satire has moved to television or networks, Lead can continue to bet on theater rooms as a speaker from which to focus on those things that do not work.

Veriu special “The Ventorro” It has already been seen in various places in the Valencian Country. The last, a few days ago, in a solidarity gala in front of the Dana Victims Association. At the end, the president of the entity thanked Castillo for his complaint on stage and had made them laugh for a while. And the point is that, despite the precedents such as the Valencia Metro accident, make it a bit skeptical, hope (and smile) is the last one to be lost.
