A satire of blah blah blahthe piece written and directed by Berta Prieto That dissects with black humor and freshness the “Overthinking” and the contradictions of the generation Z. After its good reception, the show begins also tour Catalonia and will have Spanish version in Madrid, at the Teatro de la Abadía.

A generation trapped in overweight

The montage is based on the story of Paula Miró, a cyber activist who decides to “make silly” to stop suffering. His career is documented by the feminist filmmaker Ximena White, in a story that combines self -fiction, parody and cultural criticism. “It’s a satire on theOverthinking Of the generation Z, “summarizes Prieto, who acknowledges that the work drinks from both digital culture and artistic and existential pressure.

The cast of this replacement is made up of Belén Barenys (also author of the original songs), Roser Dresaire, Irene Moray, Laura Roig and Mireia Portas. The diversity of profiles provides the polyphonic and changing tone that defines the piece. “The structure generates constant surprises in viewers,” says Moray. “There is a clear story, but it is not linearly narrated: the intention is to enjoy the scenes, all very different.”

Barenys, who plays a demanding and perfectionist mother, acknowledges that his personal experience has helped him to clarify the character: “Before, he would have demonized him more, and now I can understand certain behaviors and attitudes.” The actress also highlights the song dedicated to the mother in the final stretch, written by herself: “I came out a very nice song, and in another stage of my life I would have composed it in a very different tone.”

The staging, with scenery of Paula Gonzáleztransforms the room into a two -way space inspired by a Roman circus. The assembly alternates theatrical genres, choreography and musical formats, with parodies of popular culture and adaptations of viral memes. “ I like how it is because it is very comical but it does not depend on the gag, flees from the aesthetics of the Internet and it is not conventional in many ways, ” emphasizes Prieto, who has rewritten much of the text since he presented him at the Dramaturgy Tournament of the High Season in 2022.

A voice of its own in Catalan dramaturgy

With just a few years of experience, Prieto has established himself as one of the most prominent voices of contemporary Catalan drama. He showed it with Rights to palette and with the series Self -defensewhich co -authored and starred next to Barenys. Now, with From fandom to the trolo, It confirms its ability to connect with the young audience and, at the same time, question the speeches on happiness, pain and artistic creation.
