Exhibition “With feet of mud”


The exhibition “With mud feet” exposes the work of Maria José Torres GonzálezPenedès artist selected by the jury of the Firart 2024. It is defined as a craft, potter and heiress of a trade that describes as “complex and beautiful”. His career is a journey of absolute dedication to ceramics, a discipline that combines tradition, creativity and introspection.

Trained at the Arsenal School and with a diploma in ceramics at the Llotja School of Barcelona, ​​Torres has completed its training with various seminars and specializations, also delving into areas such as art therapy and oriental ceramics. Since 2008 it has been exclusively dedicated to ceramics, combining study work with the transmission of knowledge through adult formations.

Its way of understanding this trade highlights an intimate relationship with the material, based on listening and respect. Torres claims ceramics not only as a craft craft, but as a creative and vital process that connects with the roots, sensitivity and beauty of manual gesture.
