It IV NACS Summer Seminar (North American Society) will take place on Wednesday, July 9 in the Graus Room of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Girona.
The day will start with a round table on Violence and gender moderate by Aurélie Vialetteby Yale University. Will participate in it Margarita Casacuberta and Maria Ponsi Vilàfrom the University of Girona, and Júlia Ojeda Cabafrom the University of Barcelona and the Open University of Catalonia.
The second round table in the morning will be about Violence: Documents, Media and Scene and will moderate Eloi Grasset, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. They will intervene Caitlin Quinttenzfrom Carthage College, Víctor López Moyafrom the Open University of Catalonia, Juliana Nalerio, from the CCNY-Cuny and Martín Rodrigo-Alharilla, from Pompeu Fabra University.
Finally, the last meeting of the day will address the subject of violence and ecology. Will moderate Olga Sendra Ferrerfrom Wesleyan University. They will take part Rafael Andúgarfrom the University of Barcelona, Jesus Villalta-Lorafrom King’s College in London and Marta Duran Arranzfrom the University of St. Andrews.

Since 2022 every July NACS has organized a research seminar, focusing on a specific topic. The seminar takes place in a city in the Catalan Countries and aims to exchange ideas on the chosen topic and establish links with Catalan-speaking researchers from all over, who live in the Catalan-speaking territories or take advantage of the summer for research.
