Where 14 May, the Institut Ramon Llull will participate in the Spring Meeting of the European Network for Literary Translation Support (Bow), Which This Year Will Be Held In Prague To Coincide With Book World Prague.
At the meeting, Which Will Be Attended by the Director of the Irl’s Literatura Department, Izaskun Arretxe, The Network’s Annual Activities in the Fields of Fairs and Markets, As Well As the Various Translation Funding Options Offerd by Its Members, Will Be Reviewed. Part of the agenda Will Also Be devoted to understanding the functioning of the Czech Market.
The European Network for Literary Translation Support – Enlit – Was Established in 2016 at the Frankfurt Book Fair, Which Hosted the Official Founding Meeting. The Network Currently included the Active Participation of 30 European Organizations and Held Its recent Spring Meetings in Barcelona, Vilnius, and Lithuania. Since 2023, Julià Florit, from the literature department of the Institut Ramon Llull, you have been to member of the network’s governing board.
The Enlit Meeting Coincides with Two Book Fairs in Which The Institut Ramon Llull Takes Part to Promote the Translation of Catalan Literature: Book World Prague and the Turin International Book Fair.
Book World Prague is a Key Event for the publishing Sector of Central and Eastern Europe and this Year Will Feature Portugal As the Guest Country. Taking Advantage of this context, Various Enlit Members Will Take Part in the Fair’s Professional Program.
Meanwhile ,, The Irl Will Be Present for the Third consecutive Year at the Turin International Book Fair With a table at the rights center, with around forty meetings Scheduled. Turin Hosts One of the Most Prominent Fairs in Italy, with 200,000 Visitors and Participation From Around Forty Countries Last Year. The Irl’s Presence is Essential for Driving the Translation of Catalan Literature Into Italian.
Among The Translations Into Italian In recent YearsWe Can Find a Wide Variety of Genres, Notable Commercial and Literary Fiction As Well As Children’s and Young Adult Literature. Established Names Such As Irene Solà, Rocio Bonilla, and Marina Garcés Stand Out, Along with New Voices Like Regina Rodriguez Sirvent and Núria Bendicho.
