Knowing (and understanding) the past is essential to be able to draw our future. That is why we wanted to program some of the activities with the same thread: the historical memory. In the cycle If I told you … We invite you to take a tour of several recent historical events, which we will move through different formats and artistic disciplines: workshops, exhibitions, cinema, performing arts … Consult here All the information!

Classics and not so much

Friday at 7.30pm

It April 25 We begin our cycle aimed at lovers of the classical music. We do it with the guitar concert of En Joan Furió Vivaswhich will delight us with a very varied program: from Sor and Bach, to Ben Yami, Lali Vivas or Albéniz, among others. We will continue with the violin and harp of the duet Flight of dreams (2/5)with whom we will enjoy pieces of composers such as Vivaldi, Debussy, Saint-Saëns or Piazzolla.

Then comes the concert Lied recital and song (9/5)in collaboration with the ESMUC: A journey through this intimate genre that combines music and poetry. We will also host one of the most popular operas in the operatic repertoire, Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini (16/5)by the Opera Foundation in Catalonia. We will end with Chose (23/5)a not so classic proposal of author, root, contemporary and analog music. This concert will be in the courtyard, within the framework of the Festa Major on the right of the Eixample.

In the Montserrat Roig room, you will enjoy Textile plots. Subject, capital and work (7/5 – 26/7)in the frame of Memory windows and care of Marta Dahó. This exhibition is based on the desire to get closer to the material history of some interiors in the Eixample, focusing on the presence of tissues. From the dialogue with the sculptures of the artist Paula García-Masedocreated on the occasion of this project, the exhibition is articulated through a selection of photographs in order to reconnect spreading links from the social memory associated with the Eixample.
