The ABC of the RRI: We disenchant the legal concepts of cooperativism!
When we enter the world of cooperativism on the most theoretical-legal side, we are talking about resources, documents, diverse bureaucracy that we often do not understand. Legal, societal or economic management aspects are often eager for people who are not accustomed to these terms, and on many occasions, we derive or outsource the management of these tasks to third parties or professional entities to take over.
But one of the aspects that we consider to be the most transformers of the cooperative model is that it is precisely seeking to democratize the knowledge that is generated around the management of a collective project and that is why from Coópolis we have the challenge and the will to work to do this understandable and attractive.
Today we enter RRI: Internal Regulations
What is it?
According to art. 2 of the Cooperatives Law, 12/2015, are the rules of internal operation (1) or the functional organization of the cooperative (2), of optional nature (3) and that do not require public deed or registration in the Register of Cooperatives (4)
-
They are the series of agreements that the co -operative members take consensual to organize their work within the collective project: we talk about schedules, work calendar, how we organize the holidays, what conciliation measures we implement , etc …
-
We talk about how we organize the cooperative to deploy our products or services: We decide if we work and group in areas of expertise, if we work for commissions, who is responsible for what, how we distribute the reproductive tasks (that is, those that They are necessary for the cooperative, but that do not generate income directly), etc.
-
Of optional nature, it means that it is a document that we do voluntarily, that no one forces us. If you do not have an internal regime, the labor agreements that affect the members will be the same as the regulatory agreement of the sector in question or ultimately, in the Workers’ Statute.
-
It is an internal use document of the collective and it is not necessary to register it in any body or validated it. Does this mean that it has no legal validity? On the contrary! Being a document agreed and approved by a two -thirds majority in a general assembly of the cooperative, prevails on any other document that regulates the same aspects in a generic manner.
The Coópolis Cooperative Support Area has worked to make this summary, which is a brush stroke on the content of RRI and steps to take it.
In addition, we link some of the most interesting contents about aspects to take into account when working on this internal document of your cooperative.
