Science afternoons Science in science fiction 👽 Good science fiction must skillfully combine a credible scientific substrate with plot fiction that can be as old (and as attractive) as the Odyssey or Gulliver’s Travels. It must be a vehicle to achieve something more than the entertainment of the reader: interest him in science, make him think, criticize the establishment… In addition to the general scientific basis, more or less successful, of the novels science fiction films, I am interested in arguments where scientific concepts (biological, ecological or other) are skilfully played with, or environmental problems that we face today, such as those generated by change, are extrapolated to the point of exaggeration climatic The trigger for the colonization of the worlds of a distant galaxy may be the overpopulation and depletion of the resources of the old Earth, a very real threat now. There are works of science fiction that poke at the wound of the polluted and degenerate civilization of those who stay, instead of recreating themselves in the adventures of the pioneers who go beyond space.
